CNADCA
Canadian National Air Duct Cleaning Association
The Canadian National Air Duct Cleaning Association (CNADCA) administers Canada’s first nationally consistent certification framework for air duct cleaning, HVAC hygiene, and indoor air quality (IAQ) services.
BECOME A CERTIFIED MEMBER
All CNADCA certifications are anchored to CNADCA Standard IAQ-100-2025, a Canadian-specific technical standard developed through a rigorous, evidence-based process aligned with national building codes, safety regulations, and modern IAQ science.
Certification through CNADCA signifies verified competence, ethical compliance, and accountability—for companies, technicians, vendors, and industry professionals.
The CAST™ (Certified Air Systems Technician) designation is a controlled professional
credential issued by CNADCA™ to technicians who have successfully completed the CNADCA
Certification Program and demonstrated technical competency in accordance with CNADCA
Standard IAQ 100-2025.
The CAST™ program is structured across two progressive certification levels to ensure technical
proficiency, procedural compliance, and standards-based operational accountability within the
HVAC hygiene and indoor air quality sector.
CAST™ Level 1 confirms foundational technical competency in HVAC system assessment,
negative air system operation, and procedural cleaning methodology aligned with CNADCA
Standard IAQ 100-2025.
Level 1 Certified Technicians have demonstrated:
Has completed formal CNADCA-approved training
Working knowledge of HVAC system components and contamination pathways
Understanding of negative air collection systems and airflow principles
Competency in procedural cleaning techniques and containment protocols
Knowledge of evidence-based inspection and verification processes
Adherence to CNADCA’s Code of Ethics and professional conduct requirements
CAST™ Level 1 establishes baseline certification for field technicians operating under a
CNADCA-certified company.
CAST™ Level 2 represents advanced technical designation and supervisory-level proficiency.
This certification confirms deeper operational understanding, compliance oversight capability,
and enhanced system verification competency.
Level 2 Certified Technicians have demonstrated:
Advanced knowledge of CNADCA Standard IAQ 100-2025 technical requirements
Proficiency in airflow verification, pressure differential validation, and system
performance evaluation
Understanding of equipment calibration, performance benchmarking, and documentation
controls
Competency in job-site compliance oversight and quality assurance verification
Ability to interpret and apply standards revisions and regulatory alignment updates
Elevated ethical accountability and leadership within certified operations
CAST™ Level 2 designation is typically held by senior technicians, compliance officers, or
operational leads within CNADCA-certified organizations.
All CAST™ certifications are issued under formal CNADCA governance and controlled
certification protocols.
Certification validity is contingent upon:
Active affiliation with a compliant CNADCA-certified company
Ongoing adherence to CNADCA technical standards and ethical requirements
Completion of required updates resulting from revisions to CNADCA Standard IAQ 100-
2025
Maintenance of professional conduct and operational compliance
CNADCA retains full authority to audit, review, suspend, or revoke certification status where
necessary to preserve public trust, technical integrity, and standards enforcement.
Through CAST™ Level 1 and Level 2 certification pathways, CNADCA establishes a structured
technician hierarchy that supports industry advancement, consumer protection, and regulatory-
grade operational discipline across Canada.
